About the role#
Bohler is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for our Charlotte, NC office for the Spring 2027 term. This role offers the chance to work on active land development projects and gain insight into the day-to-day operations of a site design firm. You will work alongside engineers, designers, and project managers to support the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
What you'll do#
- Learn the stages of the land development and site design process from concept to construction.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design concept plans, grading plans, stormwater management plans, utility system plans, and soil erosion and sediment control plans.
- Collaborate with the project team to coordinate and drive projects forward.
- Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
- Visit sites to observe field conditions and participate in team meetings.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred, though training is provided for those not yet proficient.
- Curiosity and motivation to learn in a team-oriented environment.
