About the role#
Bohler is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for our Washington, DC office for the Summer 2027 term. This role focuses on the land development and site design process. You will work alongside engineers, designers, and project managers on commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use projects. This is a full-time, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Learn the stages of land development from concept to construction.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design concept, grading, stormwater management, utility, and soil erosion plans.
- Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with the project team to drive development projects forward.
- Visit sites to observe field conditions and the engineering process in action.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Architecture, or Urban Planning.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred, though training is provided for those not yet proficient.
- Curiosity and motivation to learn.
