About the role#
Bohler is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for our Nashville office during the Fall 2026 term. This role focuses on land development and site design. You will work alongside engineers and project managers to gain insight into the daily operations of a civil engineering firm. You will support the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use projects while learning the complete development process from concept to construction.
What you'll do#
- Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering firm.
- Learn the stages of the land development and site design process.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design concept plans, grading, stormwater management, utility systems, and soil erosion control.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to coordinate projects.
- Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
- Visit sites to observe field conditions and the engineering process in action.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to design improvements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Curiosity and motivation to learn.
