About the role#
Bohler is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Richmond, Virginia. This role offers exposure to the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering firm. You will work on land development and site design projects, moving through the process from concept to construction alongside project managers and engineers.
What you'll do#
- Learn the stages of land development and site design.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to support the design of concept, grading, stormwater, utility, and erosion control plans.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to move projects forward.
- Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
- Visit project sites to observe field conditions and the engineering process.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
- A genuine interest in civil site design and land development.
