About the role#
Boehringer Ingelheim is hiring a co-op student for the Vaccine Production department in Saint Joseph, Missouri. You will work on projects involving manufactured biological products like vaccines, proteins, and antibodies. This role provides direct exposure to animal health manufacturing processes.
What you'll do#
- Map antigen production workflows to document current operations and material flow.
- Perform time and motion studies to evaluate labor utilization and process efficiency.
- Collect and analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and rate-limiting steps.
- Assess constraints related to people and processes that impact throughput.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and technical operations teams to validate your observations.
- Present findings and improvement recommendations to leadership.
- Build scalable tools and methodologies to help optimize production spaces.
- Follow all documentation guidelines and standard operating procedures.
- Complete all required site and functional training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Completion of at least 12 credit hours for undergraduates or 9 credit hours for graduate students.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without restriction.
- Ability to pass a drug test and post-offer physical.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Curiosity and initiative regarding manufacturing processes and continuous improvement.
