About the role#
Boehringer Ingelheim is hiring a Process Scientist Co-Op for the Material and Analytical Sciences department in Ridgefield, Connecticut. You will work on developing critical material attributes to improve product performance through material characterization and mechanistic modeling.
What you'll do#
- Prepare batches for pharmaceutical granulation processes.
- Characterize the physical properties of drug substances, intermediates, and final drug products.
- Collect and analyze high quality data.
- Summarize your findings to present at a department seminar.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- Completion of at least 12 credit hours for undergraduates or 9 credit hours for graduate students.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Understanding of material science and formulation development for small molecules.
- Experience with design of experiments (DOE) methodology and statistical analysis.
- Proficiency in Python or Matlab.
- Ability to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be 18 years of age or older and willing to complete a drug test and post-offer physical.

- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Compensation: This is a paid position with an hourly rate between $20 and $33, based on your degree program level.
