About the role#
This Co-Op IT Engineer position supports the Regional System Lead and cross-functional partners in maintaining and improving Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) used across production sites. You will gain practical experience in manufacturing IT, regulated operations, and system lifecycle practices while collaborating with local and global teams. By the end of the assignment, you will deliver a defined project or improvement with measurable value.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to documentation, data analysis, testing, issue investigation, and change preparation.
- Complete assigned work accurately, safely, and on schedule with guidance.
- Use data and structured analysis to support troubleshooting and system improvements.
- Produce clear, complete, and reusable documentation.
- Build effective working relationships across IT, manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams.
- Communicate status, questions, risks, and findings proactively.
- Demonstrate progress in MES, manufacturing IT, and system lifecycle knowledge.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university.
- Major or minor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of at least 12 credit hours for undergraduates or 9 credit hours for graduate students at your current institution.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale is preferred.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without restriction.
- Ability to pass a drug test and post-offer physical if required.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Desired skills include experience with SQL, Python, PowerShell, Windows or Linux operating systems, and work-tracking platforms like Jira or Azure DevOps.
