About the role#
Boehringer Ingelheim is hiring a Co-Op IT Engineer to join the IT RDM department at the Ridgefield facility. You will work on IT projects and initiatives while supporting research and development activities. This is a full-time position requiring you to work on-site at least 3 days per week. The role lasts for a minimum of 4 months, with a potential extension up to 6 months.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with IT staff and research scientists to analyze their processes and business needs.
- Propose, develop, test, and deploy IT solutions for research challenges.
- Perform data curation tasks and generate reports.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Data Science.
- Completion of at least 12 credit hours for undergraduates or 9 credit hours for graduate students.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Proficiency in at least one high-level programming or scripting language like Python, Java, or C#.
- Understanding of computer programming, data storage, and relational databases.
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux systems and computer networks.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without restriction.
- Ability to pass a drug test and post-offer physical if required.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Experience with web applications, UI design, data engineering, or APIs is a plus.

- The position is located in Ridgefield, Connecticut.
- This is a paid, full-time hybrid role.
- You must be located in the local area for the duration of the co-op.
