About the role#
Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking co-op candidates for the IT Ops and Labs department at our Animal Health campus in Athens, GA. You will work with a local and global team to collect, evaluate, and implement IT and data-centric improvements. This position supports our operations and decision-making processes through the application of technology. The role is a full-time, hybrid position requiring you to be on-site at least 2-3 days per week. You must be located within commuting distance of Athens for the duration of the co-op.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with business partners to identify areas for application and process improvements.
- Propose IT-centered enhancements, technology use-cases, and solutions.
- Develop and execute pilot projects using Agile methodologies.
- Work with technologies such as AI, machine learning, data science, LLMs, IoT, APIs, SQL, and RPA.
- Document solution designs and transfer knowledge to the local IT team.
- Provide ongoing support to business partners for technology-related needs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as an undergraduate, graduate, or professional student in good academic standing.
- Completion of at least 12 credit hours in a related major, such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Data Science.
- A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- At least two years of experience with software development, preferably using ASP.net, Java, or Python.
- Ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Must be 18 years of age or older and legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or cloud-based systems is preferred.

- Location: Athens, GA.
- Modality: Hybrid (on-site at least 2-3 days per week).
- Duration: Minimum 4 months, with potential extension up to 6 months.
