Data Scientist, Fall 2026 ( Co-op/Internship)

About the role#

This is a 12-month full-time paid Data Scientist internship for the Fall 2026 term. You will work within the technology group to support the software development lifecycle, focusing on translating user requirements into technical specifications and maintaining core business systems.

What you'll do#

• Drive the software development lifecycle by working across functional teams to transform requirements into features.
• Translate user needs into technical specifications and manage design documentation.
• Analyze, develop, test, and implement new software programs.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault rectification of system components.
• Ensure code and configurations adhere to security, performance, and error-handling standards.
• Evaluate new technologies for system fit and maintain version control through release management processes.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a post-secondary program related to Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, or Operations Management.
• Foundational proficiency in programming, quality assurance, and testing.
• Strong creative thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and exercise judgment to diagnose and solve technical problems.
• Experience or coursework in system development lifecycles, cloud computing, and microservices is preferred.
