About the role#
BlueScope is hiring an Accounting Intern to work with our Finance team in Delta, Ohio. You will assist with daily accounting tasks, financial reporting, and the development of internal controls. This is a full-time, paid position that offers exposure to the financial operations of a global building materials company.
What you'll do#
- Support core accounting functions including billing, tax forms, and reporting.
- Assist in preparing financial statements to ensure they meet regulatory guidelines.
- Prepare journal entries and invoices while reconciling accounts for monthly or annual closings.
- Help prepare budgets, forecasts, and audit workpapers.
- Participate in preparations for the annual audit.
- Assist in implementing new accounting standards and creating reports for management.
- Identify ways to automate processes using tools like RPA and Power Query.
- Complete a process improvement project, which includes documenting workflows and proposing solutions for existing procedures.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status in an Accounting bachelor degree program.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate results clearly.
