About the role#
The Civics Team Intern supports Blue Haven Civics in its goal to strengthen the foundations of American democracy. This role involves working on philanthropic and for-profit capital investments aimed at youth civic engagement, reducing political corruption, and promoting an equitable tax system. This is a part-time remote position requiring 15 to 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Draft research memoranda and visual presentations.
- Provide project support across the civic engagement portfolio.
- Participate in strategy meetings regarding projects and campaigns.
- Prepare the Principal for meetings, speaking engagements, and events through written and verbal briefings.
- Attend events of interest and provide written insights.
- Create, organize, and manage folders for briefings and memoranda.
What you'll need#
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for voting, civic engagement, social justice, progressive politics, policy, or youth leadership.
- A detail-oriented, organized, and proactive approach.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, or a willingness to learn.
- Ability to conduct independent and creative research, or a willingness to learn.
- 0 to 2 years of work experience.
- Previous experience in organizing, politics, government, philanthropy, or consulting is welcome but not required.
- No university degree is required for this role.
Location & details#
- This internship is fully remote.
- The term begins in early September 2026 and lasts approximately 15 weeks.
- Compensation is $20 to $22 per hour based on experience.
- Expected work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm ET, Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 am to 12:00 pm ET on Fridays.
