About the role#
The Housekeeping Intern assists the Farm Manager with all housekeeping duties at Blackbird Farm. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position located in Philo, California. You will help maintain the farmhouse and support the kitchen staff when necessary. This role requires availability for nights and weekends.
What you'll do#
- Maintain cleanliness in the farmhouse at all times.
- Keep bathrooms and showers clean and stocked with supplies.
- Clean and turn over guest cabins and yurts, including washing, drying, and folding laundry.
- Sweep and mop the events barn to keep it organized.
- Assist kitchen staff with cleaning and food preparation tasks.
- Manage a weekly schedule of housekeeping duties.
- Track inventory of cleaning supplies and coordinate orders.
- Greet guests with a smile and show appreciation for their visit.
What you'll need#
- Professional and mature attitude with experience working with youth and adult populations.
- Ability to accept guidance and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills.
- Valid driver license held for at least 3 years with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a TB test and Livescan background clearance.
