About the role#
This is a 6-month co-op position running from January to June 2027. You will join the Antibody Discovery group within the Biodesign division. The team focuses on the discovery, characterization, and optimization of antibody therapeutics. You will work on a cross-functional team to support neurodegenerative disease research programs.
What you'll do#
- Participate in discovery and optimization campaigns to nominate lead biologic drug candidates.
- Characterize antibody drug candidates from primary and optimization campaigns.
- Perform in vitro experiments to biophysically characterize antibody candidates.
- Validate clinical targets for cell-specific drug delivery for neurodegenerative and neuromuscular disease indications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a PhD or Master's degree program in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in cell culture and sterile technique.
- Experience with molecular cloning and biological techniques like PCR, qRT-PCR, and DNA/RNA extraction.
- Familiarity with plate-based protein binding assays such as ELISA and MSD.
- Experience with flow cytometry methods.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. and at least 18 years of age.
- Preferred experience includes executing Python libraries in an HPC environment, training machine learning models, or using AI/ML tools for protein design.
- Optional experience includes biophysical protein binding characterization using SPR or BLI.

- Compensation: $29.00 to $33.00 per hour, based on academic level and degree candidacy.
