About the role#
As a Software Engineer Intern, you will work alongside full-time engineers to develop our proprietary, low latency trading systems. You will participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from initial design to testing and final deployment. We are looking for students who have an interest in technology and financial markets. You do not need prior finance experience, as our in-house Belvedere Trading University program will provide the necessary training.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with your team to build future technology and finance systems.
- Participate in our in-house learning curriculum through peer-led lectures to learn about trading fundamentals.
- Design, implement, and debug complex trading applications while ensuring code is testable and meets requirements.
- Communicate project strategies and updates to team leadership and project managers.
What you'll need#
- Experience developing efficient, user-friendly, and extensible programs.
- Proficiency in an object-oriented programming language, preferably C++, C#, or Java.
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn new concepts quickly.
- Strong communication skills to share project updates and collaborate effectively.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Business Administration.
- Availability to live in Chicago and work on-site for the full summer of 2027.
