About the role#
BDO USA is hiring a Tax Intern for our Core Tax Services team in Austin for the Winter 2028 term. This full-time, paid internship provides hands-on experience in tax compliance and consulting. You will work under the supervision of experienced professionals to support our client base.
What you'll do#
- Prepare tax returns and extensions.
- Use tax software to complete simple returns for review.
- Perform quarterly estimates.
- Assist with responses to Internal Revenue Service notices.
- Support the preparation of income tax provisions.
- Organize files to minimize rework and ensure data meets filing requirements.
- Conduct research using online tools to monitor tax law developments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a related field.
- Active pursuit of school credits to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
