About the role#
As a Summer Analyst with BDO Capital Advisors, you will support our investment banking team on transaction-related services. You will gain exposure to the M&A deal process, including sellside advisory, buyside engagements, and private placements. This role is designed to help you build the skills and professional relationships needed to start a career in investment banking.
What you'll do#
- Build financial models, including comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis, and discounted cash flow analysis.
- Create written materials such as pitch books, offering memoranda, management presentations, and valuation reports.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative research on industries and prospective clients.
- Assist with deal sourcing efforts and internal memos.
- Handle other operational tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program, with a preference for Finance or Accounting majors.
- Completion of your junior year of undergraduate studies is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions closely.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- An understanding of basic accounting and valuation concepts.
- Leadership experience is a plus.

- Location: Richmond, Virginia.
- Modality: This is an on-site, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- Compensation: This position is paid, with a pay range of $28.00 to $32.00 per hour for this location.
