About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to gain hands-on experience in the accounting industry. You will participate in a structured training program and assist with various stages of the audit process. This role provides an opportunity to apply your educational background while building professional relationships.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured on-the-job training program.
- Learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, and firm-specific audit methodology.
- Provide support to audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm-specific tools.
- Contribute ideas and opinions to your audit team.
- Complete an assigned research project and present your findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow instructions as directed.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Leadership experience is preferred, as is a Masters degree in Accounting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
