About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to support our client engagements. You will gain hands-on experience with firm practices while building professional relationships. This role offers an introduction to our audit methodology and provides opportunities to contribute to team discussions.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured training program to learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Support audit staff during engagements and become familiar with BDO audit methodology.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm tools and templates.
- Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Contribute ideas and opinions to your audit team.
- Complete an assigned accounting or audit research project and present your findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow instructions as directed.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Leadership experience is preferred, as is pursuit of a Masters degree in Accounting.
