About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to gain hands-on experience in the accounting industry. You will participate in a structured training program to learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards. This role is a full-time, paid summer internship based in Los Angeles.
What you'll do#
- Participate in on-the-job training to build your knowledge of audit methodology.
- Assist audit staff with various stages of the engagement process.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm tools and templates.
- Communicate with clients, banks, and other related parties regarding audit issues.
- Complete one assigned accounting or audit research project and present your findings.
- Contribute ideas to the audit team and collaborate with colleagues.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow directions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
