About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to gain hands-on experience in the audit practice. You will assist with problem solving and fact-finding while building relationships within the firm. This internship provides a perspective on our practices and helps you prepare for a career in accounting.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured on-the-job training program to build familiarity with accounting principles and auditing standards.
- Assist with various stages of the audit process using BDO audit methodology.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm templates and tools.
- Communicate with clients, customers, creditors, and banks regarding audit issues.
- Complete one assigned accounting or audit research project and present your findings to a panel of professionals.
- Provide support to audit staff during engagements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow instructions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
