About the role#
The BBYO Genesis Fellowship is a two-year program designed to provide professional growth through departmental rotations, one-on-one mentorship, and cohort-based coaching. Fellows gain experience in data analysis, leadership development, and networking while contributing to the organization's mission. This is a full-time, paid position based in Columbus, Ohio.
What you'll do#
- Work directly with teens (grades 6-12) to create impactful and engaging local chapter programs.
- Mentor teen leaders and deliver leadership training.
- Guide teens in establishing annual calendars to drive engagement, recruitment, and retention.
- Facilitate the planning of citywide and regional events, including overnight conventions.
- Build and maintain relationships with key volunteers, parents, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Recruit new members and promote attendance at summer programs.
- Manage the local email inbox and assist with mass communication tools, including newsletters and social media.
- Track city data regarding membership, prospects, and program logistics.
- Staff a summer leadership program for 2-3 weeks annually.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor's degree or higher.
- 1-3 years of work or volunteer experience.
- Experience with youth or teens in a youth organization or camp environment is preferred.
- General knowledge of Jewish culture and the Jewish calendar.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to customer service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to travel as needed for regional conventions, major events, and staff conferences.
- Access to reliable transportation.

- Compensation: $50,000 - $52,000 per year.
