About the role#
Bay State Milling Company is hiring a CE Intern to support Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives. You will help the team establish standardized best practices by analyzing data and creating functional tools. This is a full-time, paid, remote position. You should be prepared for occasional travel to manufacturing sites for project support and site visits.
What you'll do#
- Build and deploy a standardized flour blending program to reduce variability.
- Develop support tools for centerlining to improve key performance metrics like OEE and startup times.
- Assist with process standardization, including the evaluation and organization of SOPs.
- Provide project support through data analysis and visualization.
- Participate in regular check-ins to track progress and identify potential project risks.
- Support DVM and CI data alignment within business systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or a completed degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or Data Science.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort working with data and process documentation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Self-discipline and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A customer-oriented attitude and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Access to reliable internet.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including ratios and percentages.
