About the role#
This position supports the Agricultural Solutions team in Lethbridge. You will work with the Certified Seed Supply team on plot and field scale trials. The role involves hands-on work with growers to produce InVigor canola for the market.
What you'll do#
- Manage seed production from seeding through to harvest.
- Perform planting, spraying, crop synchronization, mowing, and harvesting.
- Process samples and monitor crop health as it matures.
- Scout fields to identify weed, disease, and insect pressure.
- Maintain relationships with growers and provide agronomic advice regarding certified seed production.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Agriculture degree or a similar program.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to solve problems and work independently when required.
- Flexibility to adjust plans as field conditions change.
- High attention to detail.
- Experience with farm equipment is highly desired.
- Previous experience in the agriculture or farming industry is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Lethbridge, Alberta.
- Term: Summer 2027 (4 to 6 months).
- Pay: $25 to $32 per hour.
- Employment type: Full-time, on-site.
- Note: This role is hired through a third-party contracting agency.
