About the role#
We are hiring an Agronomic Excellence Summer Associate to join our team in Brandon, Manitoba. This is a full-time summer position for the 2027 season, lasting between 4 and 6 months. Please note that students are hired and employed through a third-party contracting agency.
What you'll do#
- Conduct field trials to evaluate canola hybrids, seed technology, and agronomic practices.
- Manage field trial activities from seeding to harvest, including land preparation, planting, pest control, and plot maintenance.
- Supervise casual employees during the season.
- Travel within the local region for field scouting and crop health diagnosis.
- Monitor research plots daily to collect and analyze data.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Agriculture or a related field.
- Prior experience in the agriculture industry.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work toward both individual and team goals.
- Flexibility to adjust plans as field conditions change.
- Experience with agriculture equipment and field research is considered an asset.
