About the role#
This co-op program offers professional development for students within a large-scale gold-mining complex. You will gain hands-on experience by working alongside production and maintenance teams, contributing to operational efficiency and environmental compliance at the mine site.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and other departments to ensure safe plant operations, equipment maintenance, and environmental compliance.
- Manage projects through the full lifecycle, including experimental design, engineering, construction, and commissioning.
- Support automation initiatives focused on data collection and process variance control.
- Perform regular process assessments to identify opportunities to increase throughput or reduce production and maintenance costs.
- Prioritize the health and safety of employees and the protection of environment and company assets.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies.
- Ability to commit to a minimum of eight months for the co-op term.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to draw conclusions from data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across departments.
- Preferred: Knowledge of water treatment processes, modeling or simulation tools (such as JKSIMMET or METSIM), and principles of gold metallurgical analysis.
