About the role#
Barrick is seeking exploration geology interns for the 2026 summer field season, running from mid-May to late-August. This field-focused role supports greenfield exploration projects in Ontario and Quebec. You will work on a rotation basis of approximately 21 days on and 10 days off at a field location. Lodging, meals, and travel expenses to and from the project site are provided.
What you'll do#
- Act safely and responsibly in field programs and local communities.
- Assist with the collection, compilation, and management of field and geological data.
- Support team geologists in mapping and exploring areas of interest.
- Obtain field and bedrock samples under the guidance of a geologist.
- Assist with QAQC of field samples and support sample management and shipment.
- Contribute to project mapping and geological interpretations.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing or completion of an undergraduate degree in Geology or Geological Engineering.
- A keen interest in bedrock mapping, structural geology, and ore deposit geology.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and French.
- A valid driver's license.
- Commitment to safety leadership and the principles of Courageous Safety Leadership.
- Pursuit of a postgraduate degree in Geology or Geological Engineering is an asset.
- Experience using GIS or database management is an asset.
- Previous work experience in a remote camp is an asset.
