2026 Metallurgy Co-op Program

About the role#

This co-op program offers students an opportunity to gain experience at a major gold-mining complex. You will work alongside production and maintenance teams to support operations, environmental compliance, and site safety.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with production and maintenance supervision to maintain safe plant functionality and environmental compliance.
• Assist with engineering projects, covering experimental design, construction, and commissioning.
• Support automation initiatives focused on data collection and process variance control.
• Conduct process assessments to identify opportunities for maximizing throughput and reducing production or maintenance costs.
• Monitor site operations to ensure the safety of employees and the protection of environment and assets.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate metallurgy, chemical, mechanical, or industrial engineering program.
• Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies.
• Ability to commit to a minimum of eight months for the co-op term.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated ability to research, analyze information, and draw conclusions.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across departments.
• Preferred: Knowledge of water treatment processes, basic modelling or simulation tools (JKSIMMET, METSIM), and principles of gold metallurgical processing.
