About the role#
Barrick is seeking exploration geology interns for the 2026 summer field season. This role focuses on field mapping and geochemical programs for greenfield exploration projects. You will work in remote environments on a rotation basis of approximately 21 days on and 10 days off, starting in mid-May and concluding in late August.
What you'll do#
- Act safely and responsibly in and around field programs and local communities.
- Assist with the collection and compilation of field and geological data.
- Help team geologists map and explore areas of interest.
- Obtain field and bedrock samples under the guidance of a geologist.
- Assist with the QAQC of field samples and support sample management and shipment at the project site.
- Contribute to project mapping and geological interpretations.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing or completion of an undergraduate degree in Geology or Geological Engineering.
- Pursuit of a postgraduate degree in Geology or Geological Engineering is an asset.
- A keen interest in bedrock mapping, structural geology, and ore deposit geology.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and French.
- A valid driver's license.
- Experience in a remote camp or using GIS and database management is considered an asset.

- Travel expenses to and from the project site are paid, and lodging and meals are provided.
