2026 Summer Internship - Ontario - Exploration Geology

About the role#

Barrick is seeking exploration geology interns for the 2026 summer field season, running from mid-May to late-August. This role is based in remote field locations across Ontario and Quebec, operating on a rotation of approximately 21 days on and 10 days off. This is a paid, full-time position that involves active field work, including geological and structural mapping, map interpretation, and geochemical sampling programs.

What you'll do#

• Act safely and responsibly in and around field programs and local communities.
• Assist with the collection and compilation of field and geological data.
• Collaborate with team geologists to map and explore areas of interest.
• Obtain field and bedrock samples under the guidance of a geologist.
• Assist with the QAQC of field samples and support sample management and shipment at the project site.
• Contribute to project map and geological interpretations.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing or completed an undergraduate degree in Geology or Geological Engineering; pursuit of a postgraduate degree is an asset.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and French.
• A valid driver license.
• A keen interest in bedrock mapping, structural geology, and ore deposit geology.
• Previous work experience in a remote camp is considered an asset.
• Experience using GIS or database management is considered an asset.
• Commitment to safety leadership and the ability to work in remote environments.

• Location: Toronto, Ontario (with field work in Ontario and Quebec).

• Modality: On-site.
• Travel, lodging, and meals are provided for the duration of the field rotation.
