About the role#
Barge Design Solutions is offering a paid, full-time Geomatics internship for the Summer 2027 term. This role provides hands-on experience in land surveying and geomatics. You will work primarily in the field, which requires being outdoors and working in various weather conditions. Project travel may be required.
What you'll do#
- Operate survey instruments including robotic total stations, GPS, and laser scanning equipment.
- Execute proper surveying techniques in the field.
- Conduct boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, highway, route, utility, and laser scanning surveys.
- Perform basic field calculations.
- Process collected survey data.
- Interpret legal and property descriptions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program at an accredited university.
- Major in Surveying and Mapping or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Preference is given to students who do not require sponsorship.

- Locations: Knoxville, TN or Kingsport, TN.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid hourly with potential for overtime.
