About the role#
Barge Design Solutions is hiring a Geomatics intern for the summer of 2027. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in Nashville, Tennessee. The role involves significant fieldwork, requiring you to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Project-related travel may occur, and you may have the opportunity to work overtime.
What you'll do#
- Operate survey instruments like robotic total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
- Execute surveying techniques in the field.
- Process collected survey data.
- Interpret legal and property descriptions.
- Perform basic field calculations.
- Assist with various survey types, including boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, highway, route, utility, and laser scanning projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program at an accredited university.
- A major in Surveying and Mapping or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Preference is given to candidates who do not require sponsorship.
