About the role#
Peer Tutors work with Baptist University faculty and the Blue Healer Student Success Center to provide academic support. You will help students meet course objectives and understand content. This role is open to current Baptist Health Sciences University students only.
What you'll do#
- Provide tutoring through one-on-one and small group sessions.
- Lead both in-person and synchronous virtual sessions.
- Work with students to address questions about course content, homework, quizzes, and exams.
- Consult with course instructors to identify specific student learning needs based on graded work.
- Partner with Student Success Coaches to use effective tutoring strategies.
- Document attendance, session details, and student progress using management software.
- Protect the confidentiality of all student academic records and performance data.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Baptist Health Sciences University.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of full-time college experience.
- A minimum 3.0 Career G.P.A.
- A grade of B or higher in the specific courses you intend to tutor.
- Supportive recommendations from faculty members in your tutoring subject areas.
- Satisfactory conduct record.
