About the role#
This Engineering Co-op position at B&G Foods provides hands-on experience within the packing or process department of a manufacturing plant. This is a full-time, paid assignment running from January 2027 through August 2027. You will work in both office and plant environments, collaborating with teams to support operations and drive site improvements.
What you'll do#
- Manage engineering projects within the packing or process department.
- Support plant operations to meet safety, quality, and reliability metrics.
- Perform commissioning, qualification, and verification of new equipment.
- Execute sustainability initiatives focused on waste reduction and energy savings.
- Document new and modified standard operating procedures.
- Participate in experimental orders for new product initiatives.
- Analyze problems, collect data, and present improvement findings to plant leadership.
- Communicate results and teach best practices to operators.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering.
- Sophomore standing or higher with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand on concrete floors for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in areas of varying temperatures and around cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to work on other shifts on an as-needed basis.
- Must be able to work without sponsorship and reside near the reporting location for the duration of the assignment.
