About the role#
This Engineering Co-op position at B&G Foods provides an opportunity to manage projects within the packing or process departments at the manufacturing plant. The role runs from January 2027 through August 2027 and requires working on-site in Ankeny, Iowa.
What you'll do#
- Manage engineering projects within the packing or process department.
- Support operations to meet safety, quality, and reliability metrics.
- Perform commissioning, qualification, and verification of new equipment.
- Execute sustainability improvements, including waste reduction and energy savings.
- Document new and modified standard operating procedures.
- Communicate results and teach best practices to operators.
- Analyze and solve problems for current department opportunities.
- Participate in experimental orders for new initiatives.
- Present improvement findings and results to plant leadership.
- Participate in team, department, and plant meetings.
What you'll need#
- Sophomore standing or higher, currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to work without sponsorship.
- Willingness to relocate to or reside near Ankeny, Iowa, for the duration of the assignment.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to work in both office and plant environments while complying with safety procedures.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand on concrete floors for extended periods, and work in areas with extreme temperatures.
