About the role#
We are hiring an Engineering Co-op for the Crisco team at our manufacturing plant in Cincinnati. This is a full-time, paid position for the Winter and Summer 2027 terms. You will report to a Packing or Process Engineer and work on-site in both office and plant environments.
What you'll do#
- Manage engineering projects within the packing or process departments.
- Support plant operations to meet safety, quality, and reliability goals.
- Handle commissioning, qualification, and verification of new equipment.
- Drive sustainability improvements, including energy savings and waste reduction.
- Document new and modified standard operating procedures.
- Analyze problems and develop solutions for current department opportunities.
- Participate in experimental orders for new initiatives.
- Communicate results and teach best practices to operators.
- Present your improvement findings to plant leadership.
- Attend team, department, and plant meetings.
- Build and maintain working relationships with peers, technicians, and leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of an Engineering degree, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or Packaging Engineering.
- A minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to work without sponsorship.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication skills and a self-motivated approach.
- Demonstrated leadership in your studies or extracurricular activities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to relocate to or reside near Cincinnati for the duration of the assignment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand on concrete floors for long periods, and work in areas with extreme temperatures or around cleaning chemicals.
