About the role#
Axos Bank is offering a 12-week summer internship for students interested in accounting and financial reporting. You will work within our finance team to learn U.S. GAAP standards and gain exposure to banking regulations. This position includes a capstone project, sessions with business leaders, and financial literacy training.
What you'll do#
- Assist with SOX documentation and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
- Prepare journal entries for periodic, month-end, and quarter-end cycles.
- Execute month-end close processes and perform reconciliations for general ledger accounts.
- Prepare month-end roll forward schedules.
- Help prepare financial reporting schedules for SEC and federal regulator filings.
- Provide support for internal and external auditors.
- Improve reporting efficiency by minimizing manual processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Accounting or Finance degree program.
- Ability to analyze and interpret accounting guidance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Capacity to produce accurate work under time constraints.
