About the role#
This is a 12-week Summer 2027 internship program at Axos Bank. You will work on-site in San Diego to gain hands-on experience in accounting and financial reporting. The program includes a capstone project, sessions with business leaders, and training courses.
What you'll do#
- Prepare periodic, month-end, and quarter-end journal entries.
- Execute the month-end close process and perform reconciliations for general ledger accounts.
- Prepare month-end roll forward schedules.
- Assist in preparing financial reporting schedules to U.S. GAAP standards.
- Maintain and update the system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Gain exposure to SOX documentation for accounting and other business units.
- Prepare support for independent public accounting auditors, federal regulators, and internal auditors.
- Improve efficiency by implementing reports to reduce manual processes.
- Support accounting operations tasks including Investor Reporting, Procedures, and ACH Returned Collections.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Ability to analyze and interpret accounting guidance.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Capability to produce professional and accurate work under time constraints.
