About the role#
Axos Bank offers a 12-week Summer Internship Program for students interested in finance and accounting. You will work on-site in Omaha, gaining hands-on experience through day-to-day duties, a capstone project, and sessions with business leaders. This is a paid, full-time opportunity for students majoring in Accounting or Finance.
What you'll do#
- Assist with maintaining and updating accounting policies, procedures, and process documentation.
- Gain exposure to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation.
- Prepare periodic, month-end, and quarter-end journal entries.
- Execute the month-end close process and perform reconciliations for general ledger accounts.
- Prepare month-end roll forward schedules.
- Assist in preparing financial reporting schedules to U.S. GAAP standards.
- Create support documentation for internal auditors, federal regulators, and independent public accounting auditors.
- Improve internal efficiency by implementing new reports to reduce manual processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Accounting or Finance degree program.
- Ability to analyze and interpret accounting guidance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Commitment to producing professional and accurate work under time constraints.
