About the role#
Awetomaton Ltd is hiring for a full-time IT Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work directly with senior engineers and DevOps leads on production systems. This role provides hands-on experience in cloud environments, observability, and secure IT operations. You will join a small cohort of interns contributing to projects with visibility across the company and our government customers.
What you'll do#
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain cloud infrastructure and on-prem systems.
- Handle user onboarding, offboarding, and hardware or software provisioning.
- Assist with help desk tickets for engineers and researchers.
- Implement and test automation scripts for routine IT tasks and infrastructure-as-code deployments.
- Configure dashboards, alerts, and logging pipelines for observability projects.
- Create and update documentation for internal processes, runbooks, and system configurations.
- Collaborate on security tasks like vulnerability scanning and patch management.
- Shadow team members during incident response and system upgrades.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor degree program for Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Systems Administration, or a related field.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
- A basic understanding of networking fundamentals and operating systems, with a preference for Linux experience.
- Familiarity with at least one scripting language such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Availability to work full-time for the duration of the summer.
- Interest in cloud computing, observability tools, and DevOps practices.
