About the role#
Awetomaton is hiring for a full-time Platform Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work directly with senior engineers to build solutions that support national security needs. This role involves participating in the product engineering lifecycle from initial requirements to technical implementation. You will join a small cohort of interns on a project that provides visibility across the company and to government customers.
What you'll do#
- Build automation to support near-term national security needs.
- Enhance cluster reliability in multi-tenant Kubernetes environments.
- Improve the experience of teams deploying workloads.
- Contribute to tooling and maintain core platform components.
- Assist with day-to-day cluster operations including monitoring and troubleshooting.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
- Proficiency with at least one programming language such as Python, Go, or Java.
- Experience working with Linux systems.
- A basic understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
