About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in food manufacturing supervision. You will work alongside our leadership team to learn how a dairy plant runs. You will also complete a project and give a final presentation on your findings.
What you'll do#
- Leadership: Learn coaching and teaching techniques, effective communication, and how to enforce company policies.
- Shipping & Receiving: Operate the Receiving Intake Bay, unload milk, and test for titratable acidity, antibiotics, temperature, and aroma.
- Production: Work with cheese vats, packaging lines, milk pasteurizers, separators, and evaporators. You will participate in staff planning and process improvements.
- Quality & Lab: Assist with testing and inspections, collect samples for monitoring, and review documentation for materials and finished products. You will also report food safety issues.
- Sanitation & Maintenance: Help with the master sanitation program, conduct routine inspections, and learn to troubleshoot or repair plant equipment.
- Safety: Participate in safety committee meetings, assist with incident investigations, and conduct safety audits.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in an Associate, Bachelor, or Master’s degree program.
- An interest in learning about the food manufacturing industry.
