About the role#
The Cybersecurity Intern supports the administration and maintenance of global IT security. You will help monitor and protect systems from threats, handle security configurations, and assist with patching and deployment tasks.
What you'll do#
- Collect cybersecurity metrics and maintain records on SharePoint.
- Assist with SharePoint permission audits.
- Update user information in KnowBe4 and contractor manager details in Active Directory.
- Maintain the third-party risk assessment register with current and past outcomes.
- Document Cisco ESA policies, content filters, message filters, and Office 365 transport rules.
- Clean up transport rules following the standard change process.
- Create and maintain documentation for security processes, procedures, and guidelines.
- Build reports and dashboards to track KPIs related to security awareness, threats, and events.
- Contribute to projects that improve the security posture of the enterprise.
- Provide additional IT infrastructure support as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit or recent completion of a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of IT concepts including hardware, software, operating systems, and computer networks.
- Familiarity with email and web security concepts like spam filtering, phishing, and secure browsing.
- Exposure to EDR solutions or anti-virus tools through labs, coursework, or previous internships.
- General understanding of technical security controls and cybersecurity principles.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain security risks to both technical and non-technical staff.
- A desire to ask questions and learn in a security environment.

- This is an on-site position based in Kennesaw, Georgia.
- The role is part-time with a rolling term.
- This is a paid internship.
