About the role#
This 8-week summer internship program offers students hands-on experience within the insurance industry. You will work alongside the Data and Analytics team to support business priorities. This role provides a foundation for exploring career paths and developing professional skills through direct participation in projects and ongoing feedback.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with business partners and the data team on various projects.
- Design ETL processes and develop data pipelines.
- Integrate data from databases, APIs, source systems, and third-party applications into the segment data warehouse.
- Support data quality by applying validation, profiling, and cleansing techniques.
- Implement validation controls to ensure data reliability.
- Design and build Power BI reports and dashboards to provide business insights.
- Troubleshoot issues related to data storage, pipelines, and ETL processes.
- Explore AI-enabled tools to automate tasks and improve productivity.
- Recommend improvements to existing analytics solutions and support the implementation of new technologies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Data Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Information Systems.
- Sophomore, junior, or senior standing with a graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Proficiency in SQL, with Python or Spark skills preferred.
- Foundational knowledge of data warehousing, ETL concepts, and data integration patterns.
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and software development lifecycles.
- Curiosity regarding AI, machine learning, and prompt engineering.
- Exposure to platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, or Power BI is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Location & details#
- Location: Farmington, CT.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote).
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 2, 2027 - July 23, 2027).
- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $26-$28 per hour.
