About the role#
As a mechanical engineering intern, you will join the engineering team to support the optimization project at the St-Patrick plant in Montreal. You will contribute to the installation of industrial equipment, including furnaces, wire drawing machines, descalers, overhead cranes, and production infrastructure. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Support the engineering team with mechanical aspects of the project.
- Participate in monitoring installation and commissioning work.
- Assist with the analysis and resolution of technical issues.
- Collaborate on the development of mechanical solutions.
- Coordinate mechanical work with the electrical, operations, and maintenance teams.
- Participate in the design, modification, and improvement of industrial equipment.
- Conduct field measurements and monitor work progress.
- Attend weekly project follow-up meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university program in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Ability to interpret and extract information from technical and engineering drawings.
- Autonomy, initiative, and rigor.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in English to communicate with clients outside Quebec.
- Commitment to health and safety practices.
- Knowledge of SAP, Inventor, AutoCAD, and manufacturing processes is considered an asset.
- Interest in an 8-month internship is an asset.
