About the role#
The Data Engineering Intern will join the R&D Archimedes team to build and deploy data applications. You will work with large datasets, implement monitoring systems, and improve how we handle data. This role is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and deploy containerized applications to our Kubernetes cluster.
- Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of these applications.
- Work with Large Language Models (LLMs) to build and integrate AI features into our products.
- Partner with data scientists to create and maintain data pipelines, architectures, and tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within our data systems.
- Build UI applications using Streamlit or similar frameworks to create prototypes and gather user feedback.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies in AI, data engineering, and cloud computing.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Associate degree holders with relevant skills are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Experience in data engineering, data science, or a related field.
- Proficiency with SQL and database management systems.
- Knowledge of LLMs and their use in AI product development.
- Familiarity with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with natural language processing, text analysis, and machine learning.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Clear communication and documentation skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

- This position is located on-site in Greensboro, North Carolina.
- The internship takes place during Summer 2027.
- This is a full-time, paid position.
