About the role#
This is a 10-week, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will work at our site in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, with opportunities to travel to local asphalt, aggregate, and paving construction sites. The program begins June 1, 2027. You will gain experience in asphalt production and paving while developing leadership skills.
What you'll do#
- Learn operational procedures, production activities, and product knowledge at our plants and job sites.
- Assist in the optimization of asphalt mix designs.
- Perform testing and inspection of asphalt mixtures and aggregate samples.
- Monitor paving, compaction, and laydown operations to ensure project specifications.
- Develop and support sustainability initiatives to improve energy efficiency and reduce waste.
- Collect and analyze data to help develop project strategies.
- Monitor safety protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Present your findings and contributions to our executive leadership team at the end of the program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program for Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong academic performance and a solid grasp of engineering principles.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A proactive approach and high energy.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to spend significant time working in the field.
- Geographic flexibility to work at various sites.
Location & details#
- Location: Chelmsford, Massachusetts.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Note: You are responsible for your own transportation to and from worksites. You will work in environments such as asphalt plants and aggregate quarries where you will encounter outdoor weather and moving equipment.
