About the role#
This HR Intern position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. You will work closely with the HR Director and site leadership team to assist with day-to-day operations, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll support, and compliance. This is a part-time, paid internship scheduled for 24 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Maintain employee personnel files and update HR databases.
- Manage I-9 documentation and conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance.
- Track recruitment and headcount data using spreadsheets.
- Assist with job postings and candidate tracking.
- Partner with temporary staffing agencies.
- Lead new hire orientation sessions and coordinate the full onboarding process.
- Answer employee questions regarding company policies, benefits, and HR processes.
- Update timecards and assist with payroll-related administrative tasks.
- Maintain employee communication boards.
- Generate HR reports and support special projects or continuous improvement efforts.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in administration, customer service, or a prior internship is preferred.
