About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Electrical Engineering Co-op position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site at the Amgen facility in West Greenwich, Rhode Island. You will report to a Manager of Maintenance and focus on electrical system operations and maintenance activities.
What you'll do#
- Shadow technicians to learn how to operate, maintain, and sustain major electrical equipment in a large-scale production facility.
- Support day-to-day operations to ensure utility systems remain safe, compliant, and efficient.
- Assist the electrical group with troubleshooting and equipment repairs.
- Participate in improvement projects related to site electrical systems.
- Complete work order documentation accurately and follow written procedures and job instructions.
- Collaborate with peers in the Facilities and Engineering department.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to learn new skills and develop your professional knowledge.
What you'll need#
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Currently enrolled in a full-time Associate or Bachelor degree program with a 3.0 minimum GPA.
- Completed at least one year of study prior to the start of the co-op.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university after the program ends.
- Must be located in the United States for the duration of the program.
- Coursework in areas such as electrical or mechanical engineering technology, electronics, instrumentation, controls systems, automation, welding, HVAC, or plumbing.
- Ability to read and understand drawings, P&IDs, equipment schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with equipment troubleshooting and computerized maintenance management systems.
- Understanding of working within a highly regulated function.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. for the duration of the program.
