About the role#
The ThinkBIG Internship is a two-year program designed for students pursuing an Associate in Applied Sciences degree. This paid opportunity combines classroom learning with hands-on experience at an Altorfer branch. You will rotate between Illinois Central College and our dealership to build skills in a high-demand trade.
What you'll do#
- Attend Illinois Central College for 8-week academic sessions.
- Complete 8-week internships at an Altorfer branch.
- Study technical topics including Fundamentals of Hydraulics, Caterpillar Engine Fuel Systems, Electrical Systems, Diagnostic Testing, and Undercarriage/Final Drives.
- Perform physical tasks in a shop environment, such as climbing on equipment and bending.
- Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for communication and documentation.
What you'll need#
- A drive for a career in service technology.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift 75-100lbs regularly.
- Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain an above average grade point.
- A team-oriented mindset and attention to detail.
Location & details#
- Location: Hannibal, Missouri.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- This is a full-time, paid position.
