About the role#
This internship provides exposure to the Allison service network, fleets, and technical support operations. You will work with an assigned supervisor to complete a specific project over a minimum of 10 weeks. The role includes learning opportunities in failure analysis, technical writing, product design, and embedded control systems.
What you'll do#
- Support cross-functional teams and initiatives to learn about company products and organization.
- Assist in the investigation and analysis of failed transmissions or parts to support vehicle uptime.
- Help create investigative plans for major or emerging product issues.
- Prepare technical documents to update the service network on product releases and updates.
- Support the development of specialized training materials and tools.
- Provide assistance to the Allison Technical Assistance Center.
What you'll need#
- Undergraduate or graduate status with 2 to 3 years completed at an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Automotive, or a related field.
- A 3.0 GPA in your major is preferred.
- Basic technical skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with MS Office.
- Initiative to work in a collaborative environment.
